July 2016 "Trapping" Animals @ MPNR

Updated: Jan 23, 2018

From February to July of 2016, students from the Department of Mammalogy at Universidad de Antioquia did a study at the reserve to look at the diversity of mammals. Camera traps were installed in different places guided by Ubiel Rendon, one of the reserve's rangers, who is an expert in finding animals trails and tracks. Here are some photos of animals that were "captured" by the "traps", from bears to mountain lions. Don't forget to watch the video at the end.

Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus)

White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus)

Coati Mundi (Nasua nasua)

Oncilla (Leopardus tigrinus)

Mountain Lion (Puma concolor)
